Injury rehabilitation exercises are an important part of an overall recovery plan to restore function, reduce pain, and prevent future complications.

Injury Rehabilitation Exercises For A Wide Range Of Injuries

Our physical therapists utilize a variety of techniques, including injury rehabilitation exercises, to help patients recover from a wide range of injuries.

Common injuries we treat in our clinic include:

Accidental Injuries

  • Car accidents, falls, and other incidents can lead to fractures, sprains, strains, and soft tissue damage.

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

  • Physical therapy after orthopedic procedures, such as joint replacements, ligament repairs, and spinal surgery, can help improve the recovery process.

Chronic Pain Conditions

  • Physical therapy techniques offer relief for injuries that become chronic conditions like persistent back and neck pain.

How Personalized Injury Recovery Exercises Can Enhance Your Recovery

Manage Pain

Regain Strength and Mobility

  • Targeted exercises help rebuild strength and improve the range of motion in injured areas.

Improve Balance and Coordination

  • Exercises designed to enhance balance and coordination reduce the risk of falls and re-injury.

Restore Function

  • Our PTs can guide you through activities that simulate daily tasks to help you regain independence and confidence in movement.

Prevent Future Injuries

  • By identifying movement patterns and risk factors, our PTs will develop personalized strategies to help you minimize the chance of re-injury.

Injury Rehabilitation Success

A woman whose job required her to be on her feet all day came to our physical therapy clinic with severe lower back pain and restricted movement. She explained that the injury occurred while lifting a heavy box at work. The sudden, twisting motion caused a sharp, debilitating pain that had worsened over the past several days.

Our thorough examination revealed muscle spasms, limited range of motion in her lumbar spine, and tenderness to the touch. Based on her symptoms and the cause of her injury, we suspected a lumbar disc herniation. This type of injury occurs when the soft inner core of an intervertebral disc pushes through a tear in the outer layer, often compressing a nearby nerve root and causing pain and dysfunction in the back and legs.

We developed a comprehensive physical therapy program aimed at reducing pain, restoring spinal mobility, and preventing further injury.

Manual Therapy

  • Hands-on techniques that help to alleviate pain, decrease muscle tension, and improve joint mobility.

Injury Rehabilitation Exercises

  • A graduated exercise program focused on improving spinal range of motion and core stabilization (i.e., strengthening back and abdominal muscles).

Education and Posture Correction

  • We provided her with detailed instructions on proper lifting techniques, ergonomic modifications for her workplace, and strategies for managing pain flare-ups.

We continually monitored her progress and adjusted exercise and manual therapy techniques as she improved. She was diligent with her prescribed injury rehabilitation exercises in between sessions, which helped accelerate her progress. Her pain steadily decreased, and she regained her strength and mobility.
